- 1926: Thiokol is founded, making a solvent resistant material called Thiokol
- 1945: JPL discovers that Thiokol can be used as a stabilizer in solid rocket motors
- 1958: Thiokol merges with Reaction Motors Inc. (RMI)
- 1974: Thiokol wins contract to build the SRBs for the Space Shuttle
- 1982: Thiokol merges with Morton-Norwich Products becoming Morton Thiokol Inc.
- 1989: Morton-Thiokol splits into two seperate companies
- 2001: ATK buys Thiokol for $2.9 Billion
- 2007: ATK wins contract to build SRBs for the Constellation Program (This contract would later be shifted to SLS)
- 2014: Orbital Sciences and ATK merge, forming Orbital ATK
- 2018: Orbital ATK is purchased by Northrop Grumman
